The Challenge

Canotto Pizza, an authentic New York-style pizzeria with locations in Glasgow and East Kilbride, is officially ranked as one of the top 50 pizzerias in the UK. As a rapidly growing takeaway brand with a cult following, they needed a digital presence that matched the exceptional quality of their food.

However, the takeaway industry is notoriously competitive, and relying solely on third-party delivery platforms cuts heavily into a restaurant's profit margins. Canotto Pizza needed their own dedicated digital home—a brand-new website that not only made their pizzas look irresistible but also integrated flawlessly with their proprietary ordering app. The goal was to drive direct sales, reduce reliance on aggregators, and build long-term customer loyalty.

Our Solution

We designed a high-impact, visual-first website that puts Canotto’s authentic NYC pizzas front and centre. Recognizing that the vast majority of takeaway orders happen on smartphones, we took a strictly mobile-first approach to the UX/UI design.

To solve the margin challenge, we engineered a seamless integration between the new website and their custom ordering app. We mapped out a frictionless user journey, ensuring that when a hungry customer lands on the site, the transition from browsing the menu to placing a direct order is completely seamless. The design utilizes bold, appetizing imagery and highly visible calls-to-action to keep users within the Canotto ecosystem from the first click to checkout.
