The Challenge
Coia’s Café is more than just a restaurant; it is a piece of Glasgow history. Since opening in Dennistoun in 1928, it has served generations of local families. The challenge was to modernise the digital presence of such a historic brand without losing its traditional soul.
Operationally, Coia's is incredibly busy. They needed a website that could handle a high volume of traffic, reduce the administrative burden on staff taking phone bookings, and present their extensive menus clearly on mobile devices. They also required a robust solution to sell their popular gift vouchers online, transforming their website from a simple brochure into a revenue generator.
Our Solution
We built a warm, inviting Squarespace website that mirrors the famous hospitality found inside the café. The design uses rich imagery and classic typography to respect the brand's heritage while ensuring a clean, modern user interface.
Functionality was key. We replaced clunky PDF downloads with custom-coded, mobile-responsive web menus, allowing hungry customers to browse dishes easily on any device. We integrated a seamless table reservation system to automate bookings and reduce front-of-house workload. Furthermore, we developed a dedicated e-commerce section for Gift Vouchers, setting up a secure workflow that allows customers to purchase digital or physical vouchers instantly.
